This was by far one of my favorite projects I worked on for KR Builders. Scope was to remove an existing deck, pour 8' foundation walls with a two story addition on top. This expanded the homeowners living room/ kitchen/ and allowed for a sun room to be added on as well. Upstairs was designed as a full master suite complete with a bathroom and walk in closet. No project is complete without challenges. Tricky parts on this one were cutting away the whole gable end of the house (actual log framing) to open it up to the addition. A steel moment frame was very carefully set into the new opening to support this open concept complete with plenty of LVL's coming every which way from that main support to really opened up the design. Finished it off with a log siding and rough sawn pine to bring together that Maine feeling. I personally framed/did the finish work/ and managed this project start to finish for KR Builders.
